Located at 3825 Nixon Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48105, Feral Flora operates as a plant nursery serving Ann Arbor in Michigan. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Garden centers and plant nurseries sell annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, vegetables and houseplants, along with soil, mulch, fertilizer, pots and tools. Independent nurseries often grow part of their own stock and carry varieties that do well in the local climate, while big-box garden departments compete on price for common plants. Wholesale nurseries and growers sell to landscapers and sometimes to the public at volume prices; tree nurseries sell balled-and-burlapped and container trees and can deliver and plant large specimens. Specialty growers focus on bonsai, cactus and succulents, orchids or native plants, and hydroponics stores sell lights, nutrients and systems for growing indoors.

Ann Arbor is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Ann Arbor follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

As a beginner gardener, I've bought dozens of plants from Feral Flora over the past year and a half, and every single plant they've sold has been in prime health and thrived in my garden. The pickup system for online orders is very convenient, but I also recommend the in-person sales because it's fun to look at all the plants that are available and to buy one or two things without the purchase minimum. Their airtable and live inventory on their website is super helpful to know what's available and to sort by height, sun & moisture requirements, and plant category to find the right fit for your space. The people who work there are very helpful answering questions, and if they don't have a specific plant, they'll make recommendations on one to fill a similar need.

High quality happy plants, and I didnβt notice any weeds out of my ~700 plugs. They may have been a little more expensive than some other places Iβve bought from before, but thatβs well worth it to me considering the condition of the plants. Over email, Ashley recommended a good number of species for my soil and sunlight conditions (this was based in part on volunteers Iβve noticed), and after five weeks in the ground for the first batch and two for the second, very few (less than ten) plants showed ANY signs of transplant shock at all. Maybe this is normal for feral plants, but it hasnβt been my experience with plugs in the past. Though there was some luck with weather, one batch also went through several days of 90s F heat and direct sun right after plantingβ¦ so I attribute much of the success to healthy plants ready to be out of the greenhouse and the species recommendations given to me being the right fit for the site.

Feral Flora has done a few projects at my house and I've been thrilled with the design. Matt's ability to make the most out of any space, I always have something in bloom and get many compliments from neighbors on our front yard. Also the bees and butterflies love the plants!

We purchase many thousands of dollars of plants from Feral Flora each year. They are always of the highest quality. It is a sign of their integrity and professionalism that they will suggest we wait for certain species if they aren't quite ready. Much better than pushing plants out the door for a higher profit margin. Huge thanks to Matt and Ashley and the whole team for all they do!

The native plant sale is great - lots of variety, plants are in great condition, and there are lots of helpful staff to answer questions.
